Cookies, JavaScript, Java, & Pop-up Blocking Settings
(PC and Mac)

Important Settings to Configure:

Enable cookies
Internet Explorer:
"Tools" >> "Internet Options" >> "Privacy" tab >> set slider to "Medium"
Firefox:
"Tools" >> "Options" >> "Privacy" icon >> check "Allow sites to set cookies"
Netscape 7:
"Edit" >> "Preferences" >> "Privacy & Security" >> "Cookies" >> "Enable all cookies"
Netscape 8:
Open http://blackboard.bradley.edu >> "Site Controls" icon >> "Advanced" tab >> check "Allow cookies."
Safari:
"Safari" menu >> "Preferences" >> "Security" tab >> "Accept Cookies" >> ckeck "Always"

JavaScript and Java must be enabled
Internet Explorer:
"Tools" >> "Internet Options" >> "Security Settings" >> "Custom"
Scroll down to Scripting >> Select "enable" for ' Active Scripting', 'Allow paste options via script' and 'Scripting of Java applets'
Firefox:
"Firefox Menu" >> "Preferences" >> "Content" >> select "Web Features"
Ensure both boxes (Enable Java AND Enable JavaScript) are checked.
Netscape 7:
"Edit" >> "Preferences" >> "Advanced" >> check both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript"
Netscape 8:
"Tools " >> "Options" >> "Site Controls" >> check both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript"
Safari:
"Safari" menu >> "Preferences" >> "Security" tab>> check both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript"

Turn-off pop-up blocker
Pop up blocking software will disable some functionalities of Blackboard.
Either disable pop up blocking software while using Blackboard or set it to accept pop-ups from http://blackboard.bradley.edu
If you don't set the above, you may not be able to open documents or see instructions that get loaded in pop-up windows.
Internet Explorer:
"Tools" >> Pop-up Blocker >> Pop-up Blocker Settings
Enter the name of the site to allow Pop-ups and click 'Add'.
Firefox:
"Tools" >> "Options" >> "Web Features"
UN-Check the Block Popup Windows Box or click "Allowed Sites"
Netscape 7:
"Tools" >> "PopUp Manager" >> list sites on which to allow pop ups, "Add"
Safari:
"Safari" menu >> uncheck "Block Pop-Up Windows"
